Assalamualaikum

setelah sekian lama, tuan tanah kembali menjenguk blog beliau yang makin dilupai ini.

sapu habuk sikit.

Sultan Mizan Cup 2011 tertunda.

okey-okey harini kita bersiaran lagi

menyambung cerita yang tergendala itu.

eh! carik2 folder nak tempek gambar xjumpa lah pulak.

dipendekkan cerita, my hero didn't completed the race.

he started well, and getting better up to the 3rd loop.

but after that, the horse's performance is dropping drastically.

seriously like hell!

the horse he rode was hospitalized after 120km, the UPM vets collected his blood samples and after testing it,

they came out with a very shocking results!

his sugar level drops to the lowest you can ever imagine!!

that explains his tiredness, losing appetite etc...

there is a term used to explain this situation,

"hypo", I think.

this is a very rare situation for a performance horse, which has been carefully taken care of the dietary and supplements.

but what is weird,

the other 2 horses doesn't have the same problem.

even they were treated the same way all the time.

same amount of food intake, same supplements, same training schedule etc...

AHAH!

now i know, during the ride, there was something called "power booster" given by the team vet to be used on 3rd loops onwards, when the horses are quite tired.

it cames in the form of capsules, so as told by the Dr, I had to dissolve it in water first then put in a syringe to be used orally.

only my husband's horse took that booster, because I was responsible to care of the medicine and stuff,

when I gave it to another rider, he refused to take it from my hand. he said he'll take it later, so i just leave it on the table and after he took off for the next loop, i saw the booster is still there.

he didn't take it, obviously.

maybe that booster also contributes to the horse's downgraded health issues.

only ALLAH knows.

however, the other horse my husband trained for the ride and was ridden by a female rider from South Africa placed 3rd! and carry USD10,000.00 home!

and that is a HUGE thing to celebrate!

when you are responsible to train 2 horses, one you will ride by yourself and another one are to be ridden by other person

most people say you will do more on yours,

focused more on yours,

but my husband proof he didn't practice bias in training

he treat them just as same.

and to see the horse he train for other person be on the podium is something really to be proud of.

furthermore, the completion percentage were also really really bad this time

only 9 horses completed out of 52 all together.

which is about 15%

from the total horse started the race.

So, there goes my story of Sultan Mizan Cup 2011.

and so, we are no longer with that 'particular' team.

Sultan Mizan Cup Endurance Challenge ; Part 1

yeayy! kami dah selamat sampai disini..di Terengganu International Endurance Park!

kami datang awal. sebab tak sabar2 dah. event ni best tau! ada kereta sponsor yang purata harganya xkurang suku juta okey!

1st day kat sini semalam dah pegi check out dan berangan nak kereta mane2. hi hi.

antara yang top dalam senarai adalah Land Rover Discovery 4 dan pilihan kedua adalahBMW X5. ceh pilihan berlagak tu! bila lagi uollss nak drive kete mahal2 nih. walaupun tahun lepas dah dapat Land Rover, tahun ni pun still teringin lagi. Driving with that car, I tell you ; is heaven on earth!!! best betul. walaupun Discovery 4 bukanlah sedan, tp 4x4 tapi dia punya suspension bagai memang macam kereta biasa je...maklumla, terbiasa drive with Toyota & Mitsubishi punya 4x4, depa tu agak keras sikit. ngee~~~ baru dapat kereta sponsor dah kondem kereta yang selama ini banyak berjasa. ceh. tak sedar diri!.;P

Accomodation utk riders pun organizer sponsor. dekat GEM Beach Resort plak tu. tahun lepas Sutra je. (aihh kenapa "Sutra je"). he he. maybe I think GEM is better than Sutra kot. tapi sponsored room will only be given on 5th Oct. so meanwhile and as usual we stayed at the Groom Quarters ; our favourite accomodation beacuse its free, its closer to the stable and it have aircond. ngee~~~ like last year, we surrendered our hotel room to other people and we stayed in groom quarters. we are like 10times prefer to spend the night close to horses even the place is not so cozy rather than spending the night away from horses in fancy luxurious room but can't get the good sleep thinking about horses. which one do you think is better?

This event will take place in Paya Indah Wetland, Dengkil, Selangor.

the race is programmed to start at 4am and we are leaving today!

just me & hubby as the team manager, because the rider+horse+groom already left 2 days ago.

bigger responsibilities taking care of 4 performance horses here, yauuw! dat is why we can't leave too early.

not much to tell, but I have to say we manage to rebuild rotten horses and trained them to successfully completed 80km. we brought 2 horses which one of them suffers back pain and just got the acupuncture treatment earlier this year. and the other one just recovered from very bad hoof damage. when I say bad, it is very-very bad that you could barely say he has hooves! he could barely walk too! but thanks to supplements and good care, these two manage to recover and now proudly making their way to Sultan Mizan Cup 2011 - which also known as the Endurance of the year! this event has been re branded from Sultan's Cup to Sultan Mizan Cup. previously the organizer offers US$ 10,000.00 for the champion(which won by our TMKN rider), rumors says that this year's prize money will be bigger. (how awful! i cannot ride in this event!). so Malaysian endurance rider/team are all trying their best to be able to participate in this event. the qualification needed are twice 80km(FEI 1*) for new horses & riders. but before you can make it to 80km, you have to complete twice 40km first - its the national federation (EAM condition).

so now we have more horses qualified to Sultan Mizan Cup than the riders. the team still have one rider who needs to complete one more 80km. he will be doing his final 80km in September, which will be held in Wetland, organized by Selangor Turf Club. (if I am not mistaken.). this is the first time they ever held an endurance ride and they offers mindblowing prize money - RM25,000! of course, not bigger than Sultan Mizan Cup's prize money, it is still the event of the year, fellas!

RTES Endurance Ride IV ; 2011

hari ni da isnin eh?! oh...~~ ini cer sabtu minggu lepas. takdelah jeruk sangat kan? te he he.

team kami bwk sekor je kuda untuk competition ni. this is the first endurance for both horse & rider. as we just appoint new rider last 2 weeks, he is my husband's former student and the best among all. (he even beat me! urghhh bitter truth). Faris is a very good rider one can be, he is such gifted with hands that 'speak' to the horse.

and the beginner horse, Sophie is a beautiful 6 years old with great bloodlines. her mother is one of the talented horse we ever have, but now since she is 18+ years old; we no longer ride her but we took advantage to have her generations by making her as broodmares in South Africa's stud farm.

ok! back to the training ride. they have completed successfully at 5th place. (placing doesn't really counts in 40km, dude!)

2nd 40km was succesfully done last weekend. Syukur Alhamdulillah.

baru balik drpd Ar-Raudhah Equine Center for event ; Edaran Endurance Classic2010 yang mana mempunyai trek yg sgt mencabar jiwa dan raga uolls.

SYLVA xcomplete 80km. so bad. she was voted out in the vet gate after came back from 60km! and the doctors claimed she's lame. well, its their call. they said she's lame, so lame lah. xpayah nak banyak komplen. nak komplen banyak2 jadi doktor sendirik lah!

erkkk..sorry2. ter'emo' plak. tapi agak kaciwa la...logbook SYLVA belum pernah ada long scratch & tertulis LAMENESS di dalamnya lagi. *xboleh terima kenyataan kah?*

eh tak..tak...saya ngan hubby okay jer...redha jer...moreover ahe's already qualified for Sultan's Cup 2010.

inilah...barisan kita..menuju briefing.

so xder nak kecoh2 sbb xqulified ker, ape ker...okeh la tu, she can be considered as great horse to complete 60km and that is @ Ar - Raudhah!! Penunggang endurance sejati tahu apa cabarannya di trek Ar - Raudhah. dahla start jam 6.30 pg. She did 60km in the hot burning sunlight and hilly, rocky, uneven ground and a very taxing trail. *describe trail pun dah separuh en3*

but all the horses who completed well dekat tempat ni, memang bagus. sangat bagus.

treknya sangat mencabar. dahla tengah hari, panas. as what i'd seen, the situation at the cooling area every time a horse arrive was so hectic. tahu tak kenapa? sebab, dunno how, dunno why the water supply came off!! and there was no ICE supply also!! lori ais sampai lambat sangat! ramai gila bising masa tu.

bayangkan! the horses have been through challenging trail for 4 hours riding in the sun ; to complete 35km loop, came back to find out there is no water in the tank to cool them down!

naseb baik ada tasik just right behind the cooling area. so me & the boys went to take water from the lake, isikan dalam black big tank tu. we all actually was panicked! at that time, there was a lot of 40km category participants arrived after 20km loop, but only 4 of 80km category finished the 35km loop. and SYLVA was the fourth to approach finishing line. and all top 4 horses struggling to recover their heart rate. no water, no ICE!! then what?

Sylva came in with her heart bit counted 92 bpm. the allowed bit is 64. after 10 mins cooling her down, her heart bit still 70 something. and sometimes jumped to 80 something. dah risau gila masa tu! 10mins already passed by. another 10 mins left(20mins for cooling). and then i saw an ICE lorry came down, I quickly went to get couple bags of ICE. put it in the tank, and start pouring the cold water on Sylva. after 2mis, check heart rate again and it already 60 bpm. thank god. ALhamdulillah. then we all know she needed to be cool down with cold water then the heart rate will recover fast!

SYLVA was in the 3rd place when she was voted out by 3 vet. agak mengecewakan. bukan? terlepas 3000K. hu hu. xapa lah. xada rezeki nak buat macamana...

and her gang, Mr. Sethi from TMKN Endurance finished at 7th placing wayyyyy behind her. hik hik. and her another gang from K7 team did'nt pass the vet check coz of his heart bit did not recover within the time given...

and I, my face ended up to be hangus gila! with SYRIAN scraf on, the burn line splitted on my forehead just right. kelakar bila tengok.

pre - Edaran Endurance Classic 2010

it has been 5 long years before i actually got this opportunity again. it's pathethic, i know. i'm pathethic. been following my hubby to competition venues through out the years back, i hide my feeling about it.

i mean, when u hv a passion towards the ride, u will know how i feel. it's like your ability to do things were pulled of you right away. it's like, you've been there, as a supporters (and some crewing stuff) and watches people ride arrogantly, like saying "hey you, don't ride in competition anymore? what a jerk!"...owh, that's only my immature monologue which tends to appear everytime i see riders at endurance ride. (or people called it envy?)

but now, i can sshhhuuuuuhhhh the negative feelings becoz i am an endurance rider again! after two years resting (no, i'm not resting....it just i did'nt own any four-legs to participate with!)

my heart and soul have a home once more time. living the life without entering any endurance competition for about 2 years, make me feel my heart and soul are homeless. they are homeless becoz their status is unknown, i keep telling people i ride in endurance races but you know, most people judge you by your performance, experience, skills and most importantly, achievements. but if you are never seen participating in any competition, how would they see all that?how?

stakat riding kat rumah aje, ramailah. but not anymore. now, i can be proud with the tittle I've been holding for long time....i'm a passionate endurance rider!!

Edaran Endurance Classic is one of the most popular annual endurance competition in Malaysia. this ride has a very high value for me as i completed my first 80km at this event, back in 5 years ago, took place in Ar-Raudhah Equine Center, Kuang, Selangor.

after a period that long, i'm quite excited with my participation which lead me to smile even in my sleep, let all the up time alone. and makes my asben thinks i'm persuading him to get me a pair of new heels. or adidas watch. or new shawl. or new serial novels like Sophie Kinsella's Shopaholic.

but i'm smiling becoz finally, after two years had'nt participate and 5 years after my first ride (2005 - 2010), i am actually able to ride again. AGAIN. something i never expect to happens in the nearest time. (thinking gonna start next year with my crazy-bay-striped faces-huge feet x-race ; who thrown me off while walking in the paddock!! and then my asben, too!!)

and that, with Sylva. the most beautiful ageing dark-haired toes-out thoroughbred-polo I've been ridden since last year, (when my asben did'nt). and who turned out to be the best endurance horse he ever created ever ; with the clean record of the rides through-out 2010 ; twice 40km and twice 80km all in a row. I love you, Sylva. i love you. i trust you. i know we can make it to the finishing line in Ar-Raudhah this weekend. INSYA ALLAH...
